The word Radha means the greatest worshiper of Krishna. No other Gopi in Vraja has such a significant name as Sri Radha. Of course, all Vraja-gopis love and give pleasure to Krishna. However, compared to Radha’s ocean of krishna-prema, the other Gopis are merely pools, ponds and rivers. As the ocean is the original source of all the water found in lakes and rivers, smilarly the prema found in the Gopis and in all the other devotees has its origin in Sri Radha alone. Since Radha’s prema is the greatest, She gives the greatest pleasure to Krishna.
Radha-kunda is named after Radha because it has the same power that She has to attract and enchant Krishna. This is confirmed in the Caitanya Caritamrita Adi Lila 4.95: jagat mohan krishna tanhara mohini, ateva samastera para thakurani – „Krishna enchants the whole world, but Radha enchants Him. Therefore, Radha is the Supreme Goddess – para-thakurani.“
Chanting Radha’s name and bathing in Radha-kunda both attract Krishna. This is confirmed by Sri Narottama Das Thakur: krishna nama gane bhai, radhikara carana pai, radha nama gane krishna candra – „O Brother! If you sing Krishna’s name, you will attain the lotus feet of Sri Radhe and if you sing Radha’s name you will attain Krishna-candra.“
Srila Prabhupada ones said: „In Vrindavan, people are accustomed to chant Srimati Radharani’s name more than Krishna’s name – "Jaya Radhe, Jaya Radhe!" if you want Krishna’s favor, then just try to please Srimati Radharani. This is the way.“
Even a single utterance of the two sylllables "ra’ "dha’ immediatly attracts Krishna the Lord of Gokula. All the goals of human life seem insignificant for one who becomes full of prema for Radha-nama. Madhava Himself also lovengly chants japa of this mantra. May the two wonderful syllables Ra-dha become revealed to me. (Radha-rasa-sudha-nidhi)
Das Wort ‚Radha’ weist auf den Höchsten Verehrer Krishnas hin. Keine andere Vraja-gopi hat solch einen bedeutenden Namen als der von Shri Radha. Natürlich lieben alle Gopis Krishna und stellen Ihn Zufrieden. Doch im Vergleich zu Radhas Ozean von Liebe zu Krishna sind die anderen Gopis wie Weiher, Seen und Flüsse. So wie der Ozean der Ursprung aller Gewässer ist, so hat die Liebe der Gopis und allen anderen Geweihten ihren Usprung in Shri Radha alleine. Da Radhas Liebe am intensivsten und erhabensten ist stellt Sie Krishna am meisten zufrieden.
Radha-kunda ist nach Radhas Namen benannt, weil er dieselbe Kraft besitzt wie Sie, Krishna anzuziehen. Dies wird in Caitanya Caritamrita Adi-lia 4.95 beschrieben: jagat mohan krishna tanhara mohini, ateva samastera para thakurani – „Krishna bezaubert die gesamte Welt, doch Radha bezaubert Ihn. Deshalb ist Radha die Höchste Göttin – para-thakurani.“
Beides - den Namen Radha zu chanten und im Radha-kunda zu baden – wirken auf Krishna anziehend. Dies wird in einem Lied von Narottama Das Thakur beschrieben: krishna nama gane bhai, radhikara carana pai, radha nama gane krishna candra –„O Bruder! Wenn du Krishnas Name chantest, wirst du die Lotosfüsse of Shri Radhe erlangen und wenn du Radhas Name chantest wirst du Krishna-candra erreichen.“
Srila Prabhupada sagte einmal: „In Vrindavan sind sich die Leute daran gewöhnt Shrimati Radharanis Name mehr zu chanten als Krishnas Name. Deshalb rufen sie alle ‚Jay Radhe!’ ‚Jay Radhe!’ Wenn du Krishnas Gunst bekommen willst, dann versuche einfach Radharani zufriedenzustellen. Das ist der Weg.“
„Selbst beim einmaligen Aussprechen der zwei Silben ‚ra’ und ‚dha’ wird Gokula-pati auf der Stelle zum chanter hingezogen. Alle menschlichen Bestrebungen scheinen unbedeutend zu sein für denjenigen der Liebe zum Radha-nama hat. Selbst Madhava chanted voller Liebe den Radha-nama Mantra. Mögen diese zwei wunderbaren Silben Ra-dha sich mir offenbaren.“ (Radha-rasa-sudha-nidhi)
